Benefits
Working for Leverhulme Academy Trust is rewarding in lots of ways.
We celebrate our staff
At Leverhulme Academy Trust, our staff are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we celebrate our staff. We take care to mark special occasions, organise staff social events, and run recognition and reward campaigns throughout the year, making the Trust a unique place to work.
Staff health and wellbeing
Working in education is a difficult and challenging job, and the health and wellbeing of our staff is important to us. Each school has a Health and Wellbeing Ambassadors group which aims to support a healthy and happy workplace and puts our health and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do.
Each school hosts a range of staff social events and activities, including weekly yoga classes etc., and all staff have access to an occupational health provider across both schools: Smart Clinic, which specialises in support specifically for the education sector.
Through Smart Clinic, we can offer many free wellbeing services that staff can self-refer to easily online. Some services available are a 24-hour employee assistance helpline, physiotherapy, virtual GP and counselling.
Extensive CPD opportunities
Working for a multi-academy trust comprising two large secondary schools and a sixth form provision offers opportunities to learn, develop and progress. Our Early Career Teachers work on the ECF and have the same access to additional CPD as other classroom teachers and whole-school and departmental opportunities. National Professional Qualifications are on offer for staff at all stages of their careers, with the opportunity for teachers to develop their practice either inside the classroom or as a leader.
We also offer smaller, more bespoke CPD throughout the year in the form of ‘Masterclasses’, and teachers can also request coaching or peer observation from a Teaching and Learning team member.
For aspiring leaders, we offer the Emerging Leaders Programme, which provides an opportunity to consider what leadership looks like and how you might prepare for the next step in your career, building on our huge potential within the Trust.
We value the skills and knowledge of every team member, and opportunities for development and progression are also evident for our Support and Associate staff. Internal and external CPD is available and encouraged, and we have developed staff and provided opportunities for growth through various routes.
Career progression and staff collaboration
We want to encourage the career progression of our employees wherever possible, and we support staff who wish to move between our schools and the central teams when suitable roles arise.
There are lots to get involved in at both schools in the Trust, with regular inter-house competitions that range from dodgeball to pumpkin carving and a range of extra-curricular events allowing our staff to share their passions with our students.
Strong working partnerships
At the heart of our schools, you will find a strong community where staff, students and parents work together. Both schools work closely within the Bolton Local Authority and have excellent inter-school links with surrounding schools.
